SCY (Single Covering Yarn)

SCY single covering yarn, which involves pre-winding the outer layer of yarn onto aluminum spool and securing these loaded tubes on rotating spindles. Once the machine starts, the spandex is set with an appropriate draw ratio, and the core spandex from the center hollow tube of the spindle is combined with the yarn end on the aluminum tube, then guided into the stretching rollers. Due to the rotation of the spindle driving the aluminum tube, the outer yarn spirally wraps around the spandex, forming a tightly mechanically wrapped yarn. The material for single covering yarn is versatile, including DTY, HOY, FDY, etc. Fabrics made from SCY yarn have clearer weave patterns, higher-quality appearance, softer feel, and fewer fuzzies, making them more wear-resistant and anti-pilling. It is ideal for weaving elastic fabrics and materials.

I. Product Definitions

Air Covering Yarn 

● During production, high-speed airflow is utilized to encapsulate two or more types of fibers or yarns together.
● Structure: The core yarn is loosely wrapped, with gaps existing between the fibers. Intermittent bonding points adhere spandex and nylon; the Air Covering yarn partially exposes the spandex, resulting in a looser structure.

 

Conventional Covering Yarn

● Mechanical devices (such as spindles and rollers) are employed to tightly wind outer fibers around the core yarn, forming a uniform and dense covering layer.
● Structure: The core yarn is tightly wrapped, with fibers arranged regularly.

IV. How to Choose Yarn?

 

Choose Air Covering Yarn: When elasticity and softness are prioritized (such as seamless underwear, yoga pants, elastic socks). You can choose our 2030, 2050 products , or customization is available.

Choose Conventional Covering Yarn:  When anti-pilling and abrasion resistance are prioritized (such as seamless underwear, outdoor sportswear, high-end fabrics). You can choose our 3030, 4030 product, or customization is available.
